Yeowch. I read a lot of problems with Kinect being unable to track movements, like closing your hand and spinning it, or pressing forward with your arm.
Hopefully these problems have their roots in software, and with enough tweaking they can be made to work. But it isn't very good to hear, and it certainly didn't sound like software issues [at it's core].
That said, I can't think of too many ways these gestures could be used in a game anyway, at least where there would be a need for any real level of precision. So it may not be too much of a problem. Time will tell. Until then, I'll be playing Dance Central.
