I said forever, because while I really can't see myself living without electronic entertainment I would have to live without it. I have family further North in Canada who survive mostly without electronic entertainment so I guess I'd move up there start fishing, hunting , BMXing, Snow mobiling , snow boarding and doing stuff other northerners do.
I was sort of suprised by the premise of your poll. In your topic you only mention electronic entertainment devices. But how long could you last without any technology? That means no electricity at all, no electronics in cars, no electronics or vehicles period.
Example if an EMP was detonated over the US and all electronic devices in North America were whiped out. How long could you survive?
First thing I'd do, head for the gun store round up as much amunition as I could handle. Then either head north or go to the Police station and volunteer to help restore order.
Option A. I go up north. I'd grab as many friends as possible, hop on a bike and start heading North. I'd want to go as far from a heavily populated area as possible. So I'd head to my mom's house in the interior (Mid BC). I know my step dad and many of his friends and some of my northern friends know how to hunt with bows and cross bows. Also I know their are alot of hunting and fishing supplies further north. I would go untill I met up with family, then once their I would start hunting and fishing, I know people up their who build houses so I'd try to get a shelter going. I'd live off the land until Government restored power and electricity and fixed most of the devices. Once I hear that the south and heavily populated cities are recovering from the blow I'd get some friends together and make the treck home.
Option B. Join the police. I'd get as many guns and as many friends together as possible and join up with the police. As a security guard I have limited law enforcement training and would go where ever the police dispatched me and do what ever they request. I would likely move in to stop looting of food and water, protect government centers and protect order. Their would probubly be a civil war (Where I live gangs almost control everything) so the police and gangs would probubly duke it out. I might get killed in the fighting but I would stick by the mounties and put up one hell of a fight. Then I'm sure the mounties would have and secure rasions to survive so I'd stick with them. Finally when the Army moves in I'd join up with them and continue restoring order. Eventually the Government would restore electronics and electricity and I would return to normal life.
If the Government never was able to restore power and order. I would remain up north living off the land. or with the police or army or Government. I would probubly die fighting to maintain law and order or live the rest of my life in service to the state.
