Amazon.com has 4GB bundles and 250GB bundles currently in stock.

It's ocurred to me that there is probably a fair amount of "speculation" going on with independent vendors and individuals trying to cash in on the MS generated marketing hype.

The initial shipment numbers on the standalone sensors seem to be a bit low, which only helps hardware flippers.

The GS I visited in the downtown metro area of San Francisco had 30-40 pre-orders, many of which bought more than one on pick up. Why bother unless you were planning on selling one or giving it away; you only need one.

The game sales guys at Fry's in San Jose (huge electronics outlet) said they only received 12 standalone units in their initial shipment. They had the 4GB bundle in stock as of yesterday.

I'm seeing Kinect bundles everywhere, both online and at retail, which leads me to believe that MS simply didn't ship enough standalone units in the initial shipment.

But I'll just do what any level-headed person would do and wait for next week's numbers on both Kinect game sales and the inevitable hardware bump.

It will be a simple matter of subtracting the weekly hardware increase from the overall number of Kinect Adventures units sold to estimate how many standalone sensors were available (and sold) through retail.
