If we want a system that's just as capable as everything else, but priced $1000 more, then yea, I'd like Apple in the gaming industry

You already have Nintendo for that and Apple margins are no worse than Nintendo.

Dude Nintendo does not over price its products, they are always affordable. I remember getting a crappy I-Book back in the day. The thing had to be fixed like 3 times. Apparently its insides were made with aluminum and the frame kept on getting bent out of shape. My whole school adopted I-Books but after all the repairs and set backs they switched to Acer's and never looked back.

I have yet to have a Nintendo console fail on me, their products are always affordable and of the highest quality. The only Apple product I ever owned (I-Book) broke 3 times in a year, and all I did was put it in the laptop bag I wasn't rough with it or anything.

A lot of people have stories like this. I don't think that you're unique. I have had PS2s break down, a Wii break down, Xbox 360 drives breaking down twice, PS3 breaking down etc. I don't hate on any of these companies for their hardware kicking the bucket.

Whilst the Nintendo products are always affordable, the margins they have on those products are similar if not greater than many Apple products. Nintendo has massive profit margins and so do Apple and they all come from the higher margins and good sales of their products.

Tease.
