BF doesn't matter for Europe, so a December launch here would be fine, if Sony can't print and ship enough discs to launch earlier, but it should do everything possible to launch it in USA in time for BF. If not possible, it should at least make available for BF some meaningful replacement, for example being able to preorder it that day with a small discount, or, just for BF, giving away discount vouchers for GT5 with any full priced 1st party game. But being able to directly sell GT5 that day would be largely preferable.
