Well the same can be said for microsoft and nitendo too since their companies out to make as much profit as possible. So it's not just a sony thing.

Having others out of business doesn't always mean more profit.  I think the Wii brought a lot of people into gaming that might now purchase a ps3 or 360 for kinect or move.
