That's what I told the music site that charged me for a $500 guitar before they shipped it. That was on an order the service dept. admitted they didn't have in stock and would take 3-4 weeks to stock. The charge showed up 2 days later and six weeks later, they still didn't have it. They finally recredited my account after I sent them numerous unanswered e-mails that they were putting the situation in the hands of Citibank for a billed but unfulfilled order. The downside was I still have no guitar and paid off a credit bill for an unfulfilled order. The upside is I now have a debit on my credit acount. But still no guitar. |
Then that site is doing it wrong. A website cannot charge you until they ship you the product, that is actually a really big deal. The Wife works for a marketing company and she's a project manager for the team that builds website and a lot of them are ecommrce sites. One time I guy accidently pushed code that let people buy phones before the company was actually able to ship them. Long story short, the guy was very quickly fired because that was a very huge mistake.
They can notify your credit card company and set the charge as pending, but they can't actually charge you until the item ships to you.
