It's not bad for the first commercial attempt of such a player recognition system.

While the initial titles are probably not the best yardstick to measure the future potential of Kinect, it definitely needs a bit more work to play as advertised.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how much Kinect's successor will improve upon the original, so here's hoping it does well enough to further R&D into user recognition interfaces (but maybe not so well that it delays the successor).
