Islam and Christianity are almost the same!

Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God. Many Christians might assume that if you are not christian you don't believe in Jesus or God.

Muslims believe that Jesus is a prophet. Basically Jesus is a messenger of God who came to Earth to spread God's word. Its not like us Muslims disregard Jesus. He is one of the Greatest Prophets of all time and he play a key role in the Islamic religion. He is also suppose to be an important figure in the time when life on earth is suppose to end. In the Quran there is even a chapter in it called Mary which talks about jesus and virgin mary.

I guess that Muslims take the "son of god"  more literally. We believe that to be the son of god that would mean that god had a wife and had a child named Jesus. I don't think christians believe that god had a wife do they? I guess the reason Muslims take it literally because the Quran is actually quite scientific. I have also heard from somewhere before that Muhammad was told by God to help 'reinstate' the Word of God because around that time, many people did not take heed to what Jesus said and taught. So basically Muhammad was spreading the Word because many people were not affected with what Jesus had said.

Also, Mary is considered the 'mother' of God because in Christianity (I'm Catholic), Jesus is God in human form. So in turn, Mary gave birth to God in the form of Jesus (as a human).

OH, and another thing. Many people do not realize that in the past around the time of Christ and just mainly the Bible, people around the countries like in Israel are considered "Arabic." My teacher at my private school told us students in class that Arabs are desert dwellers and are nomadic, and Israel IS considered in the Middle East (of sorts). And she pointed out that for all we know, since Israel is dry enough, Israelites were said to have a darker complexion as well (mainly tan). Whether or not that goes with the saying "Jesus is black," it could be alluded because of the people in that area tend to have a darker complexion due to being in a sunlit environment (an all-year round tan).

The peninsula is considered Arab home, even in the Koran it's stated that the spiritual home of all Islam is found in the Peninsula, yes Arabs have been nomadic. However Israel is was not part of Arabia and is not part of Arabia. Another poster pretty much gave much of the uncontestable history behind Muslim conquests to show that Saudi Arabia as well as a few surrounding areas are what is considerd by even Muslims as Arabia.

One of the most confusing aspects of Jerusilem is that it holds no spiritual value to Muslims yet they fight for it so much.
