Well, nothing makes the powerful care more about something then their own be affected by it and reminding them they aren't invincible.
Nancy Reagan, Michael J Fox, The guy who was Superman who's name I forget...
they care about Stem Cell Research because it would help them... if they had cancer they'd all be for cancer research.
Of course, that's not to say there is something wrong with said people, hell if you or I were rich and famous we'd do the same thing.
It always makes me mad though when people are called humanitarians because they put a lot of support into causes that will help them... and by extension other people as well. Well not mad. More bemused.
