Lincoln had to navigate the country through a lot of crap, and he did it well.  He surrounded himself with both allies and political enemies in his cabinet to hear all sides of arguments rather than going in blind.  He was a clear and succint orator, getting his point across very effectively.  He had to reunite the union in one of it's darkest times.  And he succeeded.


Yeah, Lincoln did a great job being an Ex president... in his casket.

I'm pretty sure he means best as in "Did the most good after being president."

I'd say Jimmy Carter myself.  Soley because I don't know much about ex presidents before that.

 

Theodore Roosevelet was pretty cool too... but i may be biased seeing as he's my favorite president... and what i'd look for in a politician today.   Well outside of the whole "going to war just for young men to be abe to say they went" philosphy.

We need to get back to Fair Deal policies.
