Gaming - ERSB Broken - View Post

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is not broken, it is working as intended. Negligent parents are broken and need to be fixed the same way adults who supply alcohol to minors get fixed.

As for the infringement on our 1st Amendment rights, I don't buy it. Anyone can say or write something. Not everyone has the know-how to create a video game by themselves. Second, video games such as GTA are multi-million dollar products created solely to get a return on the investment for the developer and publishers. They are not equivalent to some bum in the commons of a university loudly promoting his views on God and telling students they will go to Hell for fornication.

Finally, video games are not art, they are entertainment played for fun. If you consider it art, then point me to your local video game gallery where I can wear my turtle neck, nice slacks and look at all the video games on the wall while drinking wine and eating cheese.
