So, you may be asking yourselves, what does that have to do with being a “hardcore” gamer? Well, the answer is quite simple. A hardcore gamer is someone who plays a game not for reaching that certain killstreak and killing everything on the map, or for getting that latest and greatest trophy, but rather it is someone who plays a game simply to have fun and to improve at that game.

VIVA LA HARDCORE GAMING!

I agree... I know a lot of hardcore farmville players... they pour hours into that game just to have fun and to improve in that game...

VIVA LA FARMVILLE!

and some of those Tetris, Bejewled, Donkey Kong, Mario Speed runs, Mario 64 speed run players. These are hardcore gamers.  I agree very much. Many gamers call them selves hardcore and all they do to claim the title is to spend lot's of cash. Sorry, but spending cash isn't hardcore. Fire of Heavans on the old EQ MMO. They were hardcore. They killed bosses that by the developers design were impossible to beat.

Sorry. Owning the latest and greatest HW or SW does not make hardcore. Working to master the game for the pure fun of it. That's hardcore. Even if you don't masters. It's that effort, time, sweat and blood. It's the dedication and mind set.

Pro to the OP. Your hardcore.

I've been playing Pen & Paper RP for 22 years. I've been running a Tribe 8 rpg game for 10. I do it, because I love it. Wooo. As a computer gamer. Not so much :P Call me a hardcore Tribe 8 GM :P

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
