I really enjoyed the show last night, I think the important distinction for me, is when a movie or (show in this case) uses the zombie/apocalypse setting to make social commentary instead of just mindless thrills. I thought the acting was solid, especially from the main character. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the season, although I wish there were more than just 5 more episodes in the first season. Oh well, its ratings last night were great for AMC, more than doubling what Mad Men and Breaking Bad usually get (AMC's two previous biggest profile shows), so I'm sure there will still be plenty of episodes to come. |
Yeah dude, I'm with you 100%. It's that apocalyptic setting that appeals to me and gets me thinking about how delicate things are as well as what the hell I would do if I were in the same situation as the characters. Every time I loose power to a storm or something things get put into perspective real quickly. There are some realistic things that could happen to create the chaos you see in these types of movie/shows too. Meteors, volcanoes, EMP attack, hell, even ......aliens lol, just to name a few.
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
