Theoretically yes, but in practice this is pretty much never the case.

didn't you understand my post.who talking about dvd vs blu-ray compatiblity

There hasn't been a game yet made on Blu-ray which couldn't also be released on DVD.

how the hell do you know??????????

there have been many devs saying many games could only be made with blu-ray space and PS3

and if FF13 wasn't linear then it could have been that game having problems on dvd

you are talking as if dvd and blu-ray have some power issues that separate them.

its suimple more space provides dev to make bigger worlds and have them on the same disc

Who was talking about BD vs DVD?  Well, rereading the thread it seems like kafar brought it up, blaming 360's DVD spec for the linearity and "losing" towns/etc, when that's 100% patently false.  The issue seemed pretty dead until you brought it back though?

Also, linearity had nothing to do with FFXIII's suitability for DVD.  Nearly all game data for FFXIII 360 was on every disc (and it was only 6.8GB on PS3's BD), the only reason there were multiple discs was due to FMV (same as FFVII on PS1 actually).

And again, in theory yes you could do more with a BD than multiple DVD, especially for emergent open world games (MMOs, sandboxes, etc).  It's just that no one has yet, and if they claim otherwise, it's pretty much always platform cheerleading bullshit (hello Kojima).
