I was not aware that they allowed for public hands-on time with KZ2 at E3 last year (EDIT: forgot it's 08 already) About Killzone: Liberation, it was a good game, but one game doesn't make a quality franchise, that's never been the case in the history of gaming. Take for example God of War 2, so many people were sceptical about it before it's release, because they thought the developer would slump after the awesome-ness that was the first game. Then there's also the issue with history, of the 2 two killzone games released so far, the good one was not the FPS. I'm not telling you to not be psyched for KZ2, but you have to put it into perspective, if you over hype it, it'll turn into another Heavenly Sword fiasco (a decent/good game that is portrayed as a crap game because it didn't live up to expectation/"hype") |
I thought they let a few people have controller time behind closed doors, but those were big members of the press. However, I doubt they let someone from the public/kid working for an online mag see anything more than all the E3 stuff thats been online for ages.
Regardless, this is a fruitless argument. He'll probably retort with a "console FPS all suck, PC ftw" mentality then go on to cite how Killzone is somehow different - likely relying on the budget involved, number of people working on it and technology. In this case just bring up Dai Katana and Trespasser.
Other than that, I agree with your post whole-heartedly. Liberation was fun, but not mind-blowing. The game quickly got repetitive, which seems to be a theme common in all three of Guerillas games.

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

, wait, it was only a game-play trailer? Like I said, you have yet to play the real thing, yes you can comment about the graphic, thats fine, but the BEST FPS is not just about pretty graphics. More important is how the first person controls handle, which no one knows yet because no one has played it. Then there's also the issue with AI, what's the point of claiming a game to be the best FPS if the AI isn't clever enough to react to you shooting it. Another aspect of claiming a title to be the best is if it brings something different to the table, you cannot legimately claim that there is anything new in KZ2.
