I did these calculations just basing on % of sales first week, first month etc... I don't feel like doing them again if you don't believe me that's okay. But I did it in a thread with solid snake.

okay, fair enough, i dont really know what calculations you did, but i would have said based on the sales at the moment that FF13 will reach maybe about 6 -6.5 mil. i agree that seems an accurate estimate.

but as you said versus is an action RPG, this does change the rules slightly. can it reach a new western market?? i believe that FF13 was intended to reach the sales success of FF7, and to trigger a resurgence of JRPGs in the west. however for various reasons that couldnt happen, but is it possible that versus could succeed because its not just a JRPG.

i personlly dont think so, but thats the impression i seem to be getting from you?? oh and darth, i think there is good evidence to suggest versus is going to the 360. it seems likely that it will be announced in Jan i think...

Its not accurate because his calculations were based on FFXIII having a similar sales curve to FF12.....its not, its showing more than 2 times the amount of legs.....but it will never sell more than 2 times the amount of FF12, therefore different sales curves. 7 Million is in the bag.

Wada expected 6 Million copies to be sold on 29th September 2009 (few months before the games release)

In another interview I found he said he expected 2 Million Shipped in Japan and 4 Million in the West. Clearly in Japan it underpeformed, and its outperformed his expectations in the West.

There is no evidence because other games have similar postings when they are exclusive.....this was proven in the thread about FFversus 13 having a 360 posting.

Wada saying that is similar to how exec's talked about MGS4.

Well i have no idea about the calculations isihki used, but if you say its doing 18,000 a week, then maybe its possible to get to 7mil. greatest hits, etc will probabily help. i'm not sure how far away it is from 6mil, but you cant deny that without sales from the 360, those numbers wouldnt be possible, which is what leads me to think that it already in the process.

there was that time also when Wada discussed the possibiliy of making it multiplatform, but there was an huge fan backlash, with death threats etc on him (i think), my point is that while theres no concrete proof, imo its seems like its only a matter of time. but i suppose we'll find out in january, when i think they will annouce it.
