There are a couple of people on this site who I think would are so desperate for conservative ideas that they'll put their hopes in anything. Maybe the Tea Party started with good intentions, but let's not pretend for a second that it hasn't been absorbed the Neo-Cons. We've seen the same thing happen to George Bush Senior and John McCain. Don't fall for the same crap over and over. I mean, really. I respect Ron Paul probably more than almost any other politician in the country, but his son is an idiot (and the other Tea Party candidates leave much to be desired).
I also was really saddened when I saw Mafoo say that he liked Ronald Reagan, and then I got even more depressed when I was reminded that Ron Paul said the same thing. Why would anyone want to have Washington be full of Ronald Reagan types? So we can have more massive spending? So corporations can get even MORE power? So we can further increase the scope of the military-industrial complex? So we can continue to have a government that works on fear? I'd like to have as few Reagans as possible in office, actually. I was kind of hoping that the Tea Party would destroy the Neo-Cons and reform the Republican Party, but that hope was pretty naive. At least O'Donnell will lose.
