She probably was depressed (you can see from her mug shot that she looked that way).
Having lived with a small child in the house, all I can say is that kids are a real pain. Some kids require so much attention that it can feel that they're eating up your whole life. Maybe this whole crying and not even letting her play FarmVille for 5 minutes was the straw that broke the camel's back.
