Kinect is targeted: they are going after the casual crowd, with the "new experience" message. There are no stereotypical "core" games at launch and Microsoft has been consistent in thier message. This has led many on this very forum to question whether Microsoft had abandoned the core. I would argue that they have not, but they have a clear plan for where they want Kinect to be and they won't muddy perception until they have established it.
Move is, IMO, the complete opposite. Sony has not specifically targeted either the core or casual markets but rather is trying to sell Move as able to do it all. So the message is not as clear to any one group, but speaks to both.
That being said time may tell which strategy worked out best...
Given the ambiguity of tracking exactly what the Move userbase is; well if they both sell reasonably good, but neither sells GREAT...well then thier will be fodder for forum wars for years to come.
