No they didn't, they said the exact opposite in fact. They said no technology existed before Kinect that would allow them to do a dance game how they wanted to do one (authentically), and they had already made games for the Eyetoy and the PSEye existed so they already knew what was possible on that device. They said they thought they might be able to port it using Move however I don't think it will be the same without being able to track your hip and leg movements accurately. If you don't know why it's different than Just Dance then you really have no clue how Kinect works. Just Dance is only tracking your hand movements, Dance Central is tracking your entire skeleton in 3 dimensions to make sure you are doing the entire dance move correctly from head to foot. Can you have fun playing Just Dance? Sure. Is it an accurate representation of actual dancing? No. |
I didn't said that Just Dance is not different from Dance Central. I said that Dance Central is not necessarily funnier than Just Dance.
We don't know yet of what the PSEye is truly capable.
It hasn'got an IR Cam but the resolution and FPS are way ahead of Kinect's RGB cam (640x480 at 60 FPS or 320x240 at 120 FPS), that could help with scanning a body even if it will not be true 3D
It does nice head tracking (GT5 : http://www.computerandvideogames.com/video.php?id=4105)
You would not get a completely similar experience as with Kinect but it could be much closer than we think
It also has a 4 Mics array
Voice recognition software is also possible on PS3 using a simple mic.
