these are shipments (their sources are the financial reports)
inventory levels for 360 were high at the end of the last calendar year which is why it probably really sold quite a bit more than was shipped this year
still personally I favor official shipment reports over sales tracking, as they are very accurate and _in the long run_ they are almost 100% = sales to customers (only big fails like Atari's E.T. don't manage to sell through completely)
