I think this gen was pretty weird. For example Valve initially claiming with hailed fanboy raving the PS3 to be a failure and now stating it is superior (mainly due to the much better PSN flexibility which also allows for games such as LittleBigPlanet 2).
Despite this, nothing has changed really since the launch of the console with regard to PSN flexibility or the PS3's performance potential, all that was already there since launch. Of course Valve and other high profile developers aren't technical retards, they knew about most of the PS3's true potential. Someone should at some point recollect all the media report bias and highlight which media isn't trustworthy, for example with regard to Blu-Ray vs HDDVD, etc, etc, as well.
