Blockbuster may be around a little longer than you think. I remember when K-Mart and Marvel Comics were bankrupt. I planned to buy a pair of Wrangler jeans and the rights to Spider-Man for a song. Years later and I still don't own a single pair of Wrangler jeans and Spider-Man is a billion dollar franchise.
Plus, with Blockbuster Mobile (basically Netflix), I think they will be around for a while. Sounds like this service sucks, though. I dumped Gamefly because of similar issues.
