I played it once (I have a big backlog, so maybe one day I'll replay it) and liked it. I loved the shooting mechanics. stealth is tricky and was very criticized, but if you "get" it you won't suffer much. if you go for full stealth (eg.. for achievements) in some levels you will reload a lot, and there's no quick save, only checkpoints (that sucks).
you can jump in at any level you want once you complete it, so you can replay your favorite levels skipping the ones you don't like. and there's the Ranger pack which is kind of an even more hardcore mode (can't remember what changes, but it's things like the HUD).
I recommend it.

unless you skipped them the first time, THQ games were already on offer a thousand times, I don't think I'll get anything now, because if Darksiders is one of the games this week, it will probably be cheaper in Christmas... and I certainly wouldn't have played it by then.
