Its actually pretty crowded considering how many people bought the first and are disappointed with the second.

Right... being disappionted with a game that isn't out yet or reviewed is logical.
Dragon Age was great for everything except gameplay. You people bitch about them changing the fighting system and that was the worst thing about Dragon Age. I really enjoyed the story, chracters, atmosphere, but fighting was just so unbelievably boring. The new fighting system looks a lot more entertaining and will likely appeal more to the masses.
People complained about Mass Effect 2 becoming more shooter than RPG. But in the end its selling great and will surpass the sales of the original pretty soon.

Did you, and I'm not judging by any means, play it on console? Its very much a game that should be played top down on PC, and coupled with the changes to the console version I could see it being very boring on them. On PC there is a lot of strategy and a lot of tension in the battle system.

I played it for the 360 and PC.
You seem to think everyone bought it because of great strategic gameplay. In reality, people enjoyed the story telling. I mean most discussion about Dragon Age is in regard to the story. So I'm not surprised to see the series is going in direction that can appeal more to the masses.
Look at Fable. A much more popular game and its just a free roaming hack n' slash with witty dialogue.

Did I say DA2 wouldn't be more popular? It probably will be. But it will also be worse. And if people enjoy storytelling that much they should read a book, much cheaper.
