Where did it not go that you thought it should have gone? People keep thinking it was an attempt to sell DS numbers, but I think it was just an alternative attempt to see what would fly.
I bought one and I like it better than my old PSP. I certainly have no qualms about not carrying 2 or 3 UMD discs around with me when I can carry my _entire_ library on my PSPGo. It's sad that some game developers don't want to pony up to get on PSN, but that's their loss. Very little that is UMD only is even worth bothering over and there are plenty of PS1/Mini games that are worth it.
Pure digital is where the bulk of games sales will be in the future. Most kids don't give a crap about physical media, they don't even give a crap about brands anymore. If old fogies want to stick with their antiquated physical copies of games, I'm sure SONY will do that using secure flash cards.
