Yes.
The majority of most people every generation, particularly those who consider themselves to have "good musical taste," will eventually hit a point past the peak of their youth where they realize they just don't relate to Top 40 radio play anymore.
So... welcome to adulthood.
Of course most people with "good musical taste" generally don't judge music of the time based on Top 40 hits or whatever happens to be the most popular song du jour.
Good music is always out there, regardless of current times; you just have to know where to look for it if you're so inclined. It should go without saying that Top 40 radio is probably one of the last places to look.
