So yea, I have to say that it was easily one of the best 4 to 6 hour games I ever played.  I'm returning it today though.

In all honesty, is this going to be a recurring theme with Platinum Games?  Release short games that aren't necessarily replayable?  I would hope not.  I would hope that, since they're a fairly new studio, that this is just them getting their foot in the door. Ok Vanquish now.

The cutscenes are cheesy as it gets and the story is rather thin but as a whole I have to say that it plays fairly well.  admittedly, the ARS feels like more of a crutch than a boon but as a whole the combat controls felt as smooth as butter.  Too bad that the combat was 99% of the game.  The way this game ended, you can tel.... let me stop there.  If there is a sequel, the only one I see stopping this from happening is SEGA , I hope there's than just battle, exchange of intel, cutscene, repeat.

I hope this series has a future because I enjoyed this taste of it. Though I'm definitely not going to buy Vanquish 2 for the story.
