The majority of music on the radio has never been "real music"; someone original comes along with an idea, it takes the world by storm, the record labels start to get as many copycats as they can; everything on the radio starts to sound the same, people get sick of it; new person comes along to start a new fad and repeat
Even if "real music" was on the radio, it would quickly become generic and pretty much downright terrible; remember the awful indie rock that was on the radio before this current Electronic-Autotuned thing?
