I tried it out in Toronto when it was here and thought it was fun.  Sure the initial batch of games are not meant for hard core gamers but I am not "hard core" so decided to preorder.  If worse comes to worse the final product sucks big time, there is always a 14 day return policy with best buy.  However I will most likely enjoy the excercise and dance "games".  A lot of people say Kinect is expensive but when compared to $99 for a wifi adapter, it is down right cheap since it comes with 1 game bunded in.  Heck I bought an Ipad and PS3 and it costs way more than that.  In the end the iPad is really used to only surf the web while on the couch and I only use PS3 to stream Netflix.  So sure Kinect is not for everyone but for some, it will be a lot of fun.

FYI. The Ipad makes a great sketchpad if you get a touch pen and the right app like ArtStudio. Just another way to use it to get your moneys worth.

As for Kinect, I agree. It will be fun for many though not for everyone. But what does satisfy everyone across the board when it comes to consumer electronics?
