I still hate how they're limiting our options. There really aren't that many industries that try to limit our ability to buy used products. Gaming industry is exceptionally greedy.

I can see why they're doing this but I can't accept this. I'm a consumer and I like to think like one. Also, I can't afford to buy 60€ games considering how much more I would have to pay to get the full experience. No, I will buy used all but the best of games. Luckily Gamestop and such won't get my money either. Like so many (but still too few) people seem to think, at Gamestop's prices for used copies it's better to pay the little extra for new. I don't like handing out money to big companies either due to their attitude towards us but at least they've done something to earn that money unlike game stores.

Free DLC for new copy buyers would be good but this feels more like removing functionality from those buying it used. Oh wait, they would limit their rip-off capabilities... Yeah, I'm not a big fan of DLC. I still remember when I didn't have to pay 2€ to get a skin or two but instead got ten for free in the game... And when withing a month of the game's release we didn't get a 5€ pack adding a game mode that should have been in the game in the first place.

Anyway, feel free to disagree. I'm sure you do. Just don't try to tell me my opinion is wrong and doomed, I've heard that so many times already. It only serves to make me angry.

Well, bear in mind, in virtually any other industry, products naturally degrade. You can buy a used car, but that car will eventually die, and it's overall total usefulness is capped. Whether I drive it until it dies, or I sell it after a few years and someone else finishes it off, the 150,000 miles or whatever that the car can drive is limited. A game could be passed to 40 different people, and each of them can get the full game experience. It's just a massive number of lost sales for the publisher/developer.

Besides, we all have the option to buy games a few months later when they come down in price. publishers are fine with that too... they just want a cut of the profits from what they make.

(That's not to say I like how EA does business in general, but I look at a game like Mass Effect's relatively low sales, and realize that people really need to buy it. I played the game repeatedly and passed it to friends who all loved it, and the game sold way less than it deserved. So now that you can get ME2 for $20 I strongly encourage my friends to buy it, rather than borrow mine)
