Man it would suck to not have Football in my life and watch the Vikings crush the Cowboys (I'm really sorry I couldn't resist), but I can also see the dilemmas the players are going through even if a lot of them make millions. I think the main problem is that the player contracts in the NFL are terrible since they aren't gauranteed.

If a player is signed to a $20,000,000 contract and gets paralyzed in the preseason ending their career they get $0 of that contract (maybe a pension??). Or if a team just drops them after the first game without any trade deal, they only get what they were paid up to that point. If their contracts were more than just pieces of paper with letters and numbers on them, then I don't think they'd be complaining as much or at least theiur complaints wouldn't hold up considering our economy.
