Motherboard choice has zero impact on video card performance and vice versa.
Starcraft II is not a very demanding game. As long as you're not playing at 2560x1600 4xAA then a Radeon 5770 or GTS 450 will be sufficient. What other games would you play and at what settings/resolutions?
