Fair enough it a little short, but this is the same company that gave us Bayonetta and thats about 40/50 hours long on subsequent playthroughs, i'm sure Vanquish supports that design. Bioshock is a good game, but i the problem i felt was even though its a good length for a shooter a lot of the game is recycled. i mean you have to go through the same areas several times, and the enemies continuously respawn, the areas take too long to traverse and get to tedious when going back and forth, like making the bomb, or collecting stuff for the lab thing. it seems like Vanquish is more innovative in terms of gameplay than other shooters, ie Bioshock, which follows the same patterns of engagement similar to other FPS, where as Vanquish introduces new mechanics to improve the action, i suppose it is flashly, but it that necessarily a bad thing when a game has high production values. ie Uncharted 2. i would say Dead Space is actully better than Bioshock, because it keeps the game fresh, instead of repeat backtracking, enemy respawns etc, but Vanquish is different from those because its a more high octane, speed based shooter, those are more atmospheric driven games. Edit: and that hacking minigame in Bioshock was a waste of time and imho shite. |
Vanguish is innovating.... and that's the main reason it got my attention... "EVERYONE" that saw the trailors was impressed. My problem is what we didn't see in the trailers... like you said yourself it's like Bayoneta when you can play it multiple times.... in other words its a SHUMP and that great but does the A.I. have to seem to... well A.I.? And the dailogue is kinda lame and cheesy. It doesn't have "soul".
Believe me I wanted to love this game pretty bad... especially when I went through the tutorial...by the time I was done with the tutorial... I was hyped and looking forward to the game. Then I was let down by the lack of "soul".
Bioshock is amazing... don't talk shite about Bioshock >_>
Anyways, I don't think we have anything else to say to each other, I hope Im wrong about the game.

I already own Vanquish it is pure awesomeness. There is way to much hate for some awesome games theses days for stupid resins. |
My reasons weren't stupid at all.
I was criticizing the game's substance and length. A "SHUMP" notice I used the quotation marks, thats key) that isn't worth playing over and over again and that's 6 hours long is a big deal. Hopefully I'm wrong.
All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.
I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.
