Okay, then its clearly a quote from the time in mekka, what means, that it isnt valid anymore as newer quotes from medina anull older ones (from mekka) when they are the complete opposite.

so my point still stands, christian and jews (whether they are viewed ase "the people of the book") have to be killed from the muslims according to the quran.

jesus, you cant tell me lies when muslims arent even allowed to be friends with non-muslims, or else they will burn in hell (according to quran)

"O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people." (quran 5:51)

"You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide."

(quran 5:80)

RE: bolded.... wtf? This is not the Bible. There is no NT and OT. There is no nullification of other text. That is a bunch of garbage. The Qur'an is one whole text the mekkah/medinah verses are mixed all throughout so its just about impossible to distinguish between which proves that ignoring 'medinah' verses is simply illogical and wrong.

RE: 5:51 (Y. Ali) O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

5:51 (Asad) O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but allies of one another [72] and whoever of you allies himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, God does not guide such evildoers.

This is in relation to the previous verses where God is chastising the Jews and Christians for forgetting what their prophets had said and altering their religion for their own vain desires. Its warning Muslims to not do the same thing and becoming their friends is a potential way to begin to follow their path of self destruction. Its a warning to remain on Islam's best path vs following the path of those who failed to listen.  Notice my translation also includes 'protectors' and the other translation used 'allies', as this is also in relation to not trusting them as the Jews in Medinah during that time had back-stabbed the Muslim agreements and helped the pagan Arabs. It is not a general statement to not be friends with others.

RE: 5:80... two translations

  • 5:78 (Y. Ali) Curses were pronounced on those among the Children of Israel who rejected Faith, by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary: because they disobeyed and persisted in excesses.

  • 5:79 (Y. Ali) Nor did they (usually) forbid one another the iniquities which they committed: evil indeed were the deeds which they did.

  • 5:80 (Y. Ali) Thou seest many of them turning in friendship to the Unbelievers. Evil indeed are (the works) which their souls have sent forward before them (with the result), that Allah's wrath is on them, and in torment will they abide.

  • 5:78 (Asad) THOSE of the children of Israel who were bent on denying the truth have [already] been cursed by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary? [93] this, because they rebelled [against God] and persisted in transgressing the bounds of what is right. -

  • 5:79 (Asad) They would not prevent one another from doing whatever hateful things they did: vile indeed was what they were wont to do! -

  • 5:80 (Asad) [And now] thou canst see many of them allying themselves with those who are bent on denying the truth! [So] vile indeed is what their passions make them do [94] that God has condemned them; and in suffering shall they abide.
  • This a continuation of that scolding of the Jews and the immediate verses before 5:80 are a direct relation to the back-stab I just mentioned. The 'them' in 5:80 are the Jews who turned away from Muslims and to the 'unbelievers' i.e. the pagen Arabs. Its a continued warning to not trust these Jews as they have proven to be untrustworthy and instead took friends of the unbelievers. It has nothing to do, again, with Muslims in general not being friends with others.

Again, you need to actually read the Qur'an and consider the full text not just random samples with biased and wrong assertions from obviously biases sites.

To continue 5:80 helps my point. Jews were considered untrustworthy the most because of how they treated the Muslim group whereas Christians in Ethiopia had earlier been very trustworthy and helpfull earlier.

  • 5:81 (Asad) For, if they(the Jews) [truly] believed in God and their Prophet [95] and all that was bestowed upon him from on high, they would not take those(the pagan Arabs) [deniers of the truth] for their allies: but most of them are iniquitous.

  • 5:82 (Asad) Thou wilt surely find that, of all people, the most hostile to those who believe(Muslims) [in this divine writ] are the Jews as well as those who are bent on ascribing divinity to aught beside God(Athiests); and thou wilt surely find that, of all people, [96] they who say, "Behold, we are Christians," come closest to feeling affection for those who believe(Muslims) [in this divine writ]: this is so because there are priests and monks among them, and because these are not given to arrogance.
