Reminds me of when Cingular bought AT&T and made it so that the people with AT&T had horrible service after the buyout so that we had to migrate over to AT&Tingular. I hate those bastards. |
Edit: Nevermind I guess it was Cingular that bought AT&T Wireless..
I was a little confused myself but I found a pretty funny post in Yahoo answers of someone trying to explain it...
"Cingular was a joint venture between at&t (formerly known as SBC) and BellSouth. When at&t bought BellSouth recently, they took control of the entire Cingular company, and decided to rename it "at&t Wireless". This is not to be confused with the company "AT&T Wireless", which was purchased by Cingular when AT&T was purchased by SBC.
Confused? Yeah. It's confusing. In the beginning there was BellSouth Mobility, Ameritech, Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, and PacBell Mobile, which "merged" into Cingular. Then there was AT&T Wireless, which was purchased by Cingular, mostly for the customer base. So at that point, AT&T Wireless ceased to exist. Then, SBC bought AT&T and renamed the new company "at&t" (lowercase). And now that at&t bought BellSouth (and BellSouth's share of the joint Cingular venture), they control 100% of the Cingular venture, they've renamed it from Cingular to "at&t wireless."
Bottom line: It's really still the same company. Just a new name reflecting the unified ownership. Same towers, same phones, same service. You'll have to decide if that's good or bad. :) "
ON TOPIC:
I will stick with XP till I get a new computer. I don't game too much on my computer anymore so I see no need in getting a new one. I did do little upgrades like more memory and newer graphics card.. Maybe in 2-3 years I will get another computer and try Windows 7.
