So, and after this is out of the way, i have to agree with you partly, Prodigy: Killing his ol' Girlfriend for leaving, is simply a big exception, a thing, done by really sick Individuals.On the other Side, Muslims are doing it to keep their honor.. or whatever, and thats sick.

Why should the roots be mentioned? Dunno either, but that the crime rate of immigrants is increasing everyday is something that shouldnt be ignored, so why should we hide it?

Unless there are actual studies that show that turkish immigants are more likely to abuse their girlfriends, it's really inappropriate for the media to put much emphasis on the nationality/race of the gut (FTR, I'm reffering to the case of the guy who killed his girlfirend).

The act itself was not somewthing unheard of, as men killing their girlfriends for dumping them is something that happens in European countries and in North America. The cause for such acts is jealousy, which in an universal human emotion. It was not something outstanding, like a honor killing, that could be exclusively attributed to muslims ( their religion/culture being the main reason why such acts are commited) case in which it's important to mention that the perpetrator was a muslim.

If the media singles out cases that don't deserve such attention, like this case with the turkish guy killing his girlfriend, it will create a distortioned view of reality, which may draw negative consequences for minority groups. The media should point out ethnicity/religion when it matters (like for example in the case of honor killings), not in a trivial case, like one of a jealous, possesive man killing his girlfriend for leaving him (a gesture which many crazy men of all races, ethnicities or religions commit).
