This a single player shooter that is 6 hours long.......................................... single player shooters should have a great stor/substance and a nice long campaign... Bioshock is a great example of a single player shooter.... Vanguish is just flashy and like Jim sterling said... it has the Japanese mentality of hey lets throw a bunch of things at the player and pretend we made a hard game(EPIC FACE PALM!) Its true... it feels like Samurai Warrior, Nighty Nine NIghts.... kinda but on a smaller scale... terrible A.I. but lots of enemies... what does that give you? A bunch of retards to fight. Don't worry tho... it's 6 hours long so the bad ends quickly... ^^^^^^ My impressions... be careful with your purchase. |
Fair enough it a little short, but this is the same company that gave us Bayonetta and thats about 40/50 hours long on subsequent playthroughs, i'm sure Vanquish supports that design. Bioshock is a good game, but i the problem i felt was even though its a good length for a shooter a lot of the game is recycled.
i mean you have to go through the same areas several times, and the enemies continuously respawn, the areas take too long to traverse and get to tedious when going back and forth, like making the bomb, or collecting stuff for the lab thing.
it seems like Vanquish is more innovative in terms of gameplay than other shooters, ie Bioshock, which follows the same patterns of engagement similar to other FPS, where as Vanquish introduces new mechanics to improve the action, i suppose it is flashly, but it that necessarily a bad thing when a game has high production values. ie Uncharted 2. i would say Dead Space is actully better than Bioshock, because it keeps the game fresh, instead of repeat backtracking, enemy respawns etc, but Vanquish is different from those because its a more high octane, speed based shooter, those are more atmospheric driven games.
Edit: and that hacking minigame in Bioshock was a waste of time and imho shite.
