MS has sold 46 million 360s without Kinect. They are going to keep catering to the hardcore audience. We have 5 years of games for the hardcore and there are plenty more coming next year. MS is trying to get the casual audience as well. If Kinect is popular its not going to change anything, its just going to add to the 360 portfolio.

yeah, but MS is still dumb for putting a fair portion of the $$$$ that it would have put out for core games, into something that looks like it won't cut the mustard

MS is dumb for making alot of money? Because Kinect is going to sell like hotcakes. We are 5 years into this generation, no exclusive game is going to be a console seller at this point. So you tell me which makes more sense. Advertise your new motion sensing device that is a system seller for a new audience, or spend more money on exclusives which are not system sellers to the same audience. Don't get me wrong I like exclusives, but Kinect is the sensible business option.
Not to mention I'm pretty sure MS is working on the "Nextbox" and I'm sure working on some exclusives for it seeing as its most likely coming out within the next couple years.
