Hi all, I'm one of those people who bought a desktop replacement laptop, and it works fine for the most part, however it has major overheating problems when the graphics card is in use. It will play games such as Left 4 Dead 2, on high graphics settings, but after about 20 minutes it overheats and turns off. I've turned the specs except view distance down to minimum on all my modern games, which has stopped the overheating from causing computer shutdowns, but it still runs hot and I would like to be able to get better graphics.
I've already turned the Aero stuff off.
I have it up on a wire tray, such as the type one might use to cool cookies after removing them from the oven, infact, it is one of those. I plan to take the case off and clean out the fan in a couple of weeks
Can anyone suggest anything? I'm particularly looking for improved abilitiy to manually control my computer's fan speed, even when the computer is really hot, the fan often won't be on maximum.
Toshiba Satellite, Windows 7, 4gb ram, 512mb/1gb graphisc card (cant remember), i5 processor.
