There was a student teacher at my high school when i was a junior, and she had her college professor come to observe her. This professor had some sort of problem with me (largely because I liked to stand in class, which my teachers were cool with, and he just seemed to dislike my demeanor). Throughout the class, he kept telling me to sit down, and i told him no, because i didn't understand what authority he was supposed to hold. So at the end of class he sat me down and asked me about my insubordination, and i told him that he himself had no authority over me. He eventually told the student teacher to tell me to sit down, which i did, because she held authority as the teacher's proxy
Later that day i was called down to the principal's office and figured i was going to really get it for having pissed this guy off, but the principal told me i had been right, and apologized for the professor's conduct.
