Broke my schools record for the most canings in one year in the very first term usually 2-6 cuts across the fingers of a open hand the deputy head was responsible for corporal punishment and in my case after i broke through the 120 cuts barrier he started standing on a chair to deliver the punishment he also broke 8 canes over the cause of that year, but the real funny thing was he never threatened to expel me even though some other boys (i went to an all boys school ) where expelled for less truancy than me, he told me after graduation the reason he didn't expel me was although i only turned up to class for subjects that interested me and spent most of my time playing poker and smoking that my grades where of a high standard so he thought the cane was enough.
