How great is your backlog?

So, I guess I'm using the word "backlog" incorrectly when I also count my not-yet-bought-but-wanted games into it. And there are some pretty old ones, for GC, many titles for PS2, and also for Wii. Do you guys actualy buy every game you're interested in when it comes out, then play it when you have the time, or is it just that the word "backlog" does not fit to the games you don't actually own? This is nothing else than a linguistic question of course because I'm not a native speaker

Anyway, even between my owned games there are many which I played for some time and after a while stopped playing even though I intend to play them some more sometime. Damn, the number is double digit, and I'm pretty sure the first digit is not 1... maybe not even 2 or 3... this would be depressing if gaming was a serious business
