Insomniac: "We are the best on PS3"

Not just Naughty Dog, but Guerilla, Polyphony Digital and Sucker Punch.

These are in fact very bold claims by Ted Price, unless he's now looking at R3 and can see something that we haven't seen that proves this?

I made a post a few months ago about R3, claiming that Insomniac needs to push everything so much further to be able to compete with the likes of Killzone 3, inFamous 2 and even Uncharted 2, but now seeing this, I hope this means that they have in fact pushed everything that they were capable of 2 years ago so much further.

I cannot deny that their games are good fun and they certainly know how to provide a good multiplayer feature, but they seriously need to push their graphics engine up quite a few notches, just to compete on the same level as the others.

The screens from R3 that we've seen recently look good, but we need to see a trailer showcasing what they've been doing for the last 2 years and I sincerely hope it's brilliant.
