Sorry. Nobody gives a shit about the graphics wars. No game Micorsoft could ever make has the potential to sell as many systems or make as much money as this. There's no way it'll fail with this kind of exposure. I made a thread after E3 2009 that Kinect (then Natal) would put the 360 on top on a weekly basis for the remainder of the generation. With the position the Wii is currently in and now seeing this, I think my crazy prediction may just become reality. |
LMAO. Seriously? I honestly doubt that those that have already owned a Wii are going to immediately rush out to spend $300 with tax just to do more motion control gaming. Plus most of the hardcore fans won't pick this up unless they have children or somewhat that wants to play with it. Plus word of mouth a big problem for Kinect if it doesn't perform well as advertised. If people grab this thing and stories start filtering about it “not working in people’s living rooms” (which I still think is a huge issue for the tech), & so on — no amount of marketing will shake that.
Even if this does become popular throughout this holiday season, the real, true test of this product's popularity will come after December's over, to see how well it'll sell outside Black Friday & Christmas if that happens.
Also, what should happen when Nintendo lowers the price of the Wii to $150 this holiday season & bundles it with a core game to counter them? Then those that still haven't bought one are going to be paying more attention to that instead.
Whoever is in charge has completely lost track of their fanbase, and what got them where they were in the first place (hardcores). Who do you think bought most of those 360 systems? Again, hardcores.
Their reputation among hardcore gamers has definitely dropped over the past 2 years, from what I heard. They were on top of the world a while ago.
I honestly think this could come back to bite them in the rear for next gen.
