This thread is full of idiocy.

and Lol at the guy saying move has sold 2 million units, they shipped alot, but they did not sell a lot.

There has been numerous websites that have sited the sales of Move.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-10-14/sony-sees-strong-europe-christmas-sales-says-ps3-may-beat-its-targets.html

That is several of the industry's biggest websites all citing the same story. Kind of makes it seem legit. Add it the fact that 200k units of Sports Champions alone has been sold in the Americas then combine that with non bundled sales and people buying multiple Move controllers and 500k seems very feasible.

That means Sony has sold around 2 million copies. And I guarantee they didn't spend 500 million to do that. Microsoft needs this to be a success and it probably will be but damn I can only imagine how many games they could develop for that amount. It seems like a waste to me.

The question that I have ... is what is a "unit."

Is each separate package a unit. That means it could be a single controller or a bundle pack. It means that people could be picking up 2, 3, 4 units. The key number to me is install base for the complete controller. 2M may mean 2M install. It may also mean 1.5M, 1M, or 500K.

Those all have very different meanings.

You are right and as I said previously Kinect will have a larger install base but Sony is going to be making a lot more money off of this. Microsoft is supposedly barely breaking even on the Kinect while Sony makes a profit on every controller, camera, and nav unit. I am all for innovation so I want this to succeed but damn they are going to need to sell a ton of hardware and software to make their money back.
