I agree about the right-wing parties. Although it has to be noted they are not anti-european, just anti islamic culture. It's really strange if you think about it.
The Greens actually were some sort of hippie-party during the early 80's but since their time in government from 1998 to 2005 (as the small coaltion partner of the Social Democrats) they've become more like traditional parties. They are currently polling above 20% in most polls. In Baden-Württemberg (South-West Germany) they are currently polling above 30% in polls regarding the regional elections which will be held in March next year.
Basically the Greens are against nuclear power and want the economy to be "greener" (more eco-friendly), they are a center-left party, are very pro immigration (the leader of the Greens is a muslim with turkish parents), very pro Europe and want the society to become more liberal (full rights for homosexuals, for instance).
