This is a betting parlor, primarily for people to take up bets with each other, but secondarily, it's a social gathering. It's a place to record your bets and results without having to remember them or write them down in notepad. If you notice bets in member signatures, please send me a message with the bet and the members and I will contact them or permission.
If you want to participate, you can simply post a bet below or accept a bet below. You can even post bets from outside this thread. The idea is to keep all VGC bet info here indefinitely, so that you can delete old ones from your sig without losing the info, or just to have fun looking at them.
Here are the rules:
Bets are done in 2 ways:
1) Inside this thread:
A bet done inside this thread can be accepted by up to 3 people.
ie: Someone posts a bet; 'zelda:skyward sword will be pushed back onto wii 2'.
Then, three people can come in and dispute the bet, and a further two people can support the bet.
2) Outside this thread
Oftentimes, arguments will happen in the forums based on potential eventualities. Oftentimes, they are the hinges of irreconcilable opinions. These will burst into bets that become tracked by the users in their signatures. Oftentimes there are conditions of winning or losing the bet.
Conditions:
Conditions can be set for whatever the user would like. The default condition is one week of signature control;ie; the 'winner' of the bet will give the 'loser' something to write or post in their signatures.
Here are some sample conditions:
- Avatar control: Loser must change their 'avatar' (profile picture) to whatever the winner wants for a predetermined period of time.
- Signature control: Same as above, but with the signature instead of their avatar.
- Requested Ban: Loser requests a ban from a moderator for a predetermined amount of time
- Praise thread: Winner writes a thread for the loser to create. Loser must write down everything as specified by the winner except maliciousness, or anything that might defame or hurt a member. Something akin to "I was wrong about blank, and because of that, I was blind to reality, etc etc etc". Another example would be one that praises a console of member.
