Only the 8,354,346th time I've heard this one.. I love how the so called "hardcore gamers" act like they're such non conformists and yet they all seem to say the same crap.

I don't consider myself a "Hardcore Gamer". I buy around 20-30 games per year for PS3, PSP, Wii and DS... and have 38 platinum trophies... but after having seen some ppl online I know there is still a huge gap of how serious you can take gaming. I do not want to spend more than 20 hours into an action game, dislike Ego-Shooters, do not like competitive game modes ( I have really come to dislike online gaming because of this) and dislike hardcore difficulty levels. I just want a deep story and enjoyable gameplay.

And still I feel really disappointed with my Wii Experience. And that is partly because how Nintendo is marketing the Wii in Austria/Germany/Continental Europe. I mean, look at the Amazon Top 100 Wii Games:

http://www.amazon.de/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_n_6?rh=n:300992,k:games,n:!541708,n:195015011&bbn=541708&sort=salesrank&keywords=games&ie=UTF8&qid=1287127621&rnid=541708#/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=n:300992,k:games,n:!541708,n:195015011&bbn=541708&sort=salesrank&keywords=games&ie=UTF8&qid=1287127639

And that is in principal the same range of games you see when you go into the "Saturn" and look for some decent Wii Games. I went into 2 shops (Saturn, Libro) and tried to find Dragon Quest Swords and the Chocobo Game and couldn't find them. Hmm, well it should be "how the Stores market the Wii" then, because it is not Nintendos fault what games the story hold in stock...but you get the point. And thats why so many people, that care so much about gaming that they go to online forums to talk about them, are disappointed with the Wii.

There is some reason why the 3rd Party shunned the Wii with their franchises and prefer PS3/X360 instead. Resident Evil 5, GTA 4, FF 13, DMC 4, etc.... The higher Install Base is inflated...surely Nintendo did enlarge the market and got the attention of a new audience. But this new audience will probably never get deeper into gaming. And after those Mini Games like Wii Play/Wii Sports/Wii Fit grew old many of them will put their Wii away and continue on. And thats why the Wii is starting to fall behind (it is still selling well, though).

The PS2 also had those "shovelware"...  but it had FF X, FF X-2, FF XII, Kingdom Hearts I II, GTA Trilogy, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Dexter, Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry, Gran Turismo, Dragon Quest VIII...
